Britain’s Bravest Manufacturing Company is the nation's leading Social Enterprise in providing employment opportunities to members of the Armed Forces community. It is our mission to help ex-service personnel maintain their independence after they leave service by providing them with employment. It has been our mission since we were founded nearly 100 years ago and it continues to drive us forward today.
We began supporting ex-service personnel after WW1, when veterans diagnosed with tuberculosis came to us for care. As they recovered they wanted to have more independence and be able to provide for their families. We were formed as Industrial Settlements Incorporated and the first products made by veterans on our site included wooden toys and boxes.
Over the years we expanded our support to more veterans while manufacturing a wider range of products and services, including making signs and producing print. We became Royal British Legion Industries Ltd, a charity providing support, care and employment to the Armed Forces community.
As we’ve continued to grow the range of products and services that we offer, we’ve also expanded our support to people outside the Armed Forces community. As well as employing ex-service personnel, we now support people with disabilities and health conditions.
